1931-S 10C MS67 Full Bands PCGS. This is an exceptional example of an important depression era coin, currently tied for the finest certified by PCGS. Both sides are fully detailed with frosty mint luster over tawny silver surfaces. Hints of iridescent toning add to its aesthetic appeal.
Due to a lack of demand for new coinage, the three mints were comparatively inactive at the time. Philadelphia and Denver only produced cents, dimes, and double eagles, while San Francisco coined cents, nickels, and dimes only. Total output from the San Francisco Mint was just 3,866,000 coins, including 1.8 million dimes, 1.2 million nickels, and 866,000 cents. With today's high-speed coinage presses, this production would require a single press to work for less than 100 hours. Population: 5 in 67 Full Bands, 0 finer (3/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
