<B>1931 Proposal for the Establishment of the Cord International Sweepstake Handicap Air Derby.</B></I> This is a copy of a proposal submitted by Clifford Henderson, managing director of the National Air Races, to the Cord Corporation seeking their sponsorship for an air competition open to men and women pilots. The proposal was accepted and the air race that bore the Cord name was held in 1932. The printed 5-page proposal measures 9.5” x 11.5”, and is mounted in a folder with an overall size of 11” x 13.5”.
