1931 Babe Ruth Barnstorming Photographs (2) from Walsh Estate. Pair of 8x10" photographs picture the biggest name in baseball sporting the uniform of "Babe Ruth's Universal Stars," a barnstorming club formed to promote the Bambino's film career in the early days of the Great Depression. The first photo pictures the Babe posing with his teammates. Directly to his left is a nattily dressed Christy Walsh, known in baseball history as the first sports agent. To Walsh's left is another of his clients and a member of the Babe's other team, the great Lou Gehrig. The second photo is a posed studio shot of Ruth in uniform, offering a fine study of the Babe's boyish features. Each offers some mild wear to the white borders, but could be matted and framed to a NRMT appearance. Letter of provenance from Christy Walsh, Jr.'s widow states that each derives from the estate of her late husband's father.
