1931 $20 MS64 PCGS. Ex: Park Avenue Collection. This near-Gem is highly lustrous with frosty yellow-gold surfaces that are enhanced by faint pink and olive toning. The strike is sharp with nearly full design details on both sides. A few tiny abrasions on the surfaces of this near-Gem piece keep it from a higher grade. Like all of the issues from 1929 to 1933, this date is an important rarity that is seldom offered in any grade. It is difficult to pinpoint the number of survivors that are known today. Dave Bowers estimated 80 to 120 Mint State pieces and just five to eight circulated coins. We have never seen a circulated example, and a review of our past auction records indicates that MS62 is the lowest grade piece we have ever cataloged. Population: 30 in 64, 34 finer (12/06).
From The Matt & Susan Brown Family Collection of Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
