Featured in this lot we have a pair of brass miners carbide lamps and a can of lamp oil originating from the 1930's. The set consists of two brass carbide lamps, a Butterfly and a Guys Dropper, along with a Union Carbide oil can. Both the lamps show brass construction and similar models with the Butterfly showing a larger reflector and rubber ring around the bottom. The two show carry clips, flame adjuster knobs, fuel cap, reflector, and striker. The first lamp is marked simply "Butterfly Trade Mark" across the fuel cap. The second lamps is marked "On Gus Ropper" across the top and "Made in U.S.A. Auto-Lite Patented Universal Lamp Co." across the bottom. The can shows steel construction with blue and grey wrapper reading "2 LBS. Half Inch Highest Gas Yield Worlds Best Quality Union Carbide Manufactured by Union Carbide Co. For Automobile and Bicycle lamps Sold by Union Carbide Sales Co." across the front of the piece. The set shows good condition overall with some wear and tear indicative of age. The lamps measure 4" tall not counting the reflector by 2" in diameter with the Butterfly reflector measuring 4 1/2" in diameter and the Dropper measuring 3 1/8" in Diameter with the oil can measuring 5 1/8" tall by 3 1/2" in diameter.
