1930-S 10C MS67 Full Bands PCGS. The 1930-S Mercury di
1930-S 10C MS67 Full Bands PCGS. The 1930-S Mercury dime is a low mintage issue that was widely hoarded at the time of release. However, the 1.843 million pieces struck were not released until 1934-35, by which time the mintage was widely known and pieces were quickly snapped up by collectors and speculators, according to David Lange. While collectors should have little difficulty locating an Uncirculated survivor, they will seldom have the opportunity to acquire a high-grade Full Bands representative. A Superb Gem that should be of instant importance to Registry Set collectors, the currently offered coin is well struck and highly lustrous, with slight softness on the reverse peripheral letters, and a minor coin-to-coin mark directly above the I of DIME. The surfaces are bright, and display the usual S-mint frost, with a faint accent of apricot patina to the left of Liberty's face. Only 12 examples of this issue have received the MS67 grade, with Full Bands designation, at PCGS and NGC combined, and none have received a higher grade assignment at either service (1/06).
