For your bidding pleasure is this L'Alsacienne Tient Tous Tissus Advertising Poster. This poster is a advertisement for Belgium fabric dye. This poster shows a woman pulling freshly-dyed fabrics out of wooden basins of pigmented water where they would have been left to soak. The result: bright, rich, luscious colors! French artist Albert Dorfinant (1881-1976) has created quite a romantic image here, recalling the old ways of dyeing fabrics by hand. The focus on the female washerwoman seems to insinuate that Alsacian dyes are of such high quality that they can be confounded for fabrics which have received individual care and attention! Signed 'Dorfi' in the print, this vintage poster has been recently linen backed and is in excellent condition. The measurements of this poster are 65 1/2" x 49 1/2".
