He came to the Potteries as a modeller but quickly moved to manufacturing. He was joined by his brother, Sydney, by 1886, and worked the Winton Pottery. The style became Grimwade's Ltd. about 1890. Leonard Grimwadewent for a time to Australia but returned to the Potteries. He is also credited with installing the first continuous process kiln, in 1901. In this process, known as the Climax kiln, the ware was packed into iron cages on wheels. </td></tr><tr> <td> </td></tr><tr> <td>Reference #: 030905ANT_GRW_CT</td></tr><tr><td>Condition:Fantasic</td></tr><tr><td>Year:1930</td></tr><tr><td>Country:England</td></tr><tr><td>Maker:Grimwades-Royal Winton</td></tr><tr><td>Height:4.75</td></tr><tr><td>Depth:Base: 5.75 Lid: 5.75</td></tr><tr><td>Width:Base: 7.25 Lid: 4.25</td></tr><tr><td>Title:1930 Grimwades-Royal Winton Covered Cheese Tray</td></tr><tr><td>Style:Covered Cheese Tray </td></tr><tr><td>Type:Earthenware</td></tr><tr><td>Location:Saratoga County, NY</td></tr></table>
