1929-S 5C MS67 PCGS. An overview of population figures supports David Lange's assessment in The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels, third edition, that the "1929-S is the most common S-mint nickel of the 1920s in all grades." Yet this status as a populous piece is relative, and in MS67, NGC and PCGS have certified just eight pieces combined, with none finer (2/07). The piece offered here is a pretty example of this condition rarity. Each side exhibits strong detail overall, with just the slightest softness on the bison's head and shoulder. While the luster is not flashy, it remains vibrant beneath delicate blue and lavender patina. With its essentially undisturbed surfaces and excellent overall eye appeal, this coin is a winner.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
