1929-D 5C MS66 PCGS. Even though 8.37 million pieces were struck of the 1929-D, it is an issue that is rarely seen in high grades. Apparently most of the mintage was dropped into circulation, and weakness of strike is a major deterrent to locating full Gem examples. This piece is well, but not fully struck, and shows bright, satin-like mint luster. Light rose and lilac toning is seen gently draped over each side of this lovely, high grade coin. Population: 40 in 66, 1 finer (7/07).

Coin Engraver: James E.
