Despite this limited mintage, the '29-D is among the more readily obtainable branch mint Walkers from the 1920s in Mint State. Bruce Fox (1993) suggests that the Stock Market Crash of that year kept many examples from entering the avenues of commerce. We caution bidders, however, that this issue's dwindling certified as one progresses up the grading scale confirms the condition rarity of this premium quality Gem. The overall sharp strike is free of criticism, as are the richly frosted and virtually abrasion-free surfaces.
