1929 Casey Stengel Handwritten Letter from the Casey Stengel Collection. A short handwritten letter to his mother on both sides of a single sheet of paper regards Casey's managerial tenure with the bumbling Toledo Mud Hens. "...My club is drawing terrible and playing worse," he laments. Interestingly, he notes the sale the day before of a player named Johnny Neun, who would go on to serve fourteen games as the New York Yankees interim manager in 1946. He goes on to discuss various other trades, and discusses briefly some family money troubles, closing with "...Love & good wishes to all so don't worry, C.D.S." All ink is as bold and dark as the day it was applied, and page has original mailing folds but otherwise NRMT. LOA from PSA/DNA.
