<B>1929 $5 MS64 PCGS.</B></I> The 1929 coinage of half eagles resumed after a 13-year hiatus. This issue is rare in all Mint State grades. Moreover, David Akers, in his 20th-century United States gold coins reference book, says "... the majority of Uncirculated specimens are quite heavily bagmarked, thereby falling into the MS60 to MS62 category."<BR> This near-Gem specimen exhibits brassy-gold surfaces with touches of apricot, along with bright luster. A solid strike emboldens the design features, with no areas revealing hints of weakness. The coin possesses just a few minute contact marks that prevent the achievement of full Gem classification.
