<B>1929<$20> MS62 NGC.</B></I> Once considered a great rarity, the '29 Saint-Gaudens is still relatively scarce compared to other issues in the series. Fewer than three hundred have been graded by the two major services, although most of those are in Mint State. This is a beautiful piece with luscious, softly frosted luster and lovely yellow-green coloration. The scattered small abrasions on either side seem minimal for the grade.<BR> The 1929 is the first of a series of scarce dates at the end of the Saint-Gaudens double eagle series. While this issue is the least rare of this group, it is still a coveted date among specialists. Only a minuscule percentage of the nearly 1.8 million pieces minted survived the recall of gold coinage in the 1930s.
