1929 $2 1/2 MS66 NGC. This strongly lustrous yellow-gold example offers excellent visual appeal and exquisitely preserved surfaces. The lemon-gold surfaces have a slightly frosty quality to them, and the few tiny marks present on the surfaces appear in inoffensive places. An attractive representative of the final quarter eagle struck for circulation.
While the 1929 is readily available in circulated grades like the other 1920s issues, better Mint State pieces remain elusive, and this piece offers an uncommon opportunity for the discerning collector. The populations listed by Garrett and Guth (2006) remain accurate: "PCGS has graded a single coin as high as MS67, and both NGC and PCGS have graded a total of three others as MS66, making either grade virtually unobtainable." This simply stellar Premium Gem is the lone example from that list certified by NGC (7/07).

Coin Engraver: Bela Lyon Pratt

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
