1928-S 5C MS65 PCGS. CAC. Lovely variations of rose, steel-blue, and gold coloration adorns the nearly pristine surfaces of this impressive Gem nickel. The design elements are generally well struck, although, as noted by David Lange: "Most examples display a general softness in the date, the mintmark, and the bison's forehead." This coin is no exception, and also shows a bit of weakness along the tops of UNITED STATES. Overall, however, this is a clean and conditionally scarce example, and the small green sticker on the PCGS holder indicates that it has been certified by C.A.C. as premium quality for the grade. Population: 60 in 65, 5 finer (12/07).

Coin Engraver: James E.
