1928-S 5C MS65 PCGS. Radiantly lustrous surfaces displ
1928-S<5C> MS65 PCGS. Radiantly lustrous surfaces display a thin veil of barely discernible beige, lilac, and ice-blue , and a scattering of tiny pepper-like spots. Both sides exhibit what David Lange (2000) says "... is the bright, liquid appearance associated with polished planchets that have not been fully compressed by the dies." While Lange also indicates that most examples display a general softness in the date, the mintmark, and the bison's forehead, the current specimen reveals sharp definition in these and the remaining elements of the design, though for accuracy we note some softness in the bison's hair immediately adjacent to the forehead. There are no distracting marks to report. Population: 53 in 65, 5 finer (6/06).
