<B>1928 Lou Gehrig Wire Photograph, Type 1.</B></I> The reigning American League MVP prepares to fire a ball from his first base position at the Yankees' St. Petersburg, Florida spring training grounds. Magnificent action portrait measures 8x10" in size and shows wear along bottom edge, with a crease at left corner. These issues cannot override the tremendous power of the image however, and the bulk of the surface area remains free of flaws. Original paper caption on verso, which is date stamped "Mar 5 - 1928." Confirmed as Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
