1928-D<1C> MS65 Red PCGS. A difficult coin to surpass in terms of technical quality, the eye appeal is also among the most impressive that we have seen on a '28-D. Starting with this issue, the Denver Mint tightened up its quality control for the Lincoln cent, and both sides of the present Gem are expectantly sharp. Bright-red, pink-orange, and steel-green colors are the most prominent over the two sides, and the small number of scattered flyspecks could be characterized as minimal. An interesting die clash mark (as struck), around the bottom of the C in CENT, is a reflection of the back of Lincoln's neck and the top of his collar. A highly desirable example of this conditionally scarce date. Population: 65 in 65 Red, 10 finer (8/05).
