1928-D 10C MS65 Full Bands PCGS. Writing in 1993, David Lange suggests that, despite a lower value in today's market, the 1928-D is equally as rare as the 1927-D as a fully struck Gem. We last offered an MS65 Full Bands PCGS representative of the '28-D as lot 6642 in our January 2002 FUN Signature Sale. That coin realized $2,530, or $430 more than the current (9/02) CDN bid of $2,100. Perhaps some collectors are starting to agree with Lange that the 1928-D is an undervalued strike and condition rarity? This is a lovely Gem with mostly untoned surfaces that glow with satiny luster. The strike is full in all areas, and the all-important central crossbands are well rounded and sharply split from end to end. There is not a single blemish that is out of context with the assigned grade. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
