<B>1928 50C Hawaiian MS66 NGC.</B></I> With the highest price per coin seen to that time, $2.00 apiece, and a restricted mintage of just 9,958 standard pieces, the conditions were ripe for abuse, though the distributors of this issue have gone down in numismatic history as fair and even-handed instead. A thin veil of green-gold patina graces the reverse, while the subtly lustrous obverse is silver-gray with a zone of amber below the bust. Well struck and immensely appealing.
