<B>1928 50C Hawaiian MS65 NGC.</B></I> The Hawaiian is the most coveted type in the silver commemorative series. The mintage of 9,958 pieces (not including the fifty sandblast proofs) is the lowest for any silver type, although the Hudson and Spanish Trail are close behind. The different between the three types is in their distribution: the Hudson and Spanish Trail issues were sold to collectors, while a large portion of the Hawaiian production was reserved for residents of the island territory, many of whom were non-numismatists. The present sharply struck and satiny Gem exhibits pearl-gray, sky-blue, and pink-gold toning.
