1927 Tony Lazzeri Double-Signed Yankees Check
1927 Tony Lazzeri Double-Signed Yankees Payroll Check. If it wasn't for a couple teammates named Ruth and Gehrig, this is the man who would have worn the 1927 season's home run crowd. Eighteen homers was instead good enough for the bronze medal, and a fine tally for Lazzeri's sophomore year, in the greatest Yankee season of all time. Here we present an official Yankees payroll check issued to "Anthony Lazzeri" during the historic campaign's final weeks. Authorizing signatures from top Bronx brass Ed Barrow and Jake Ruppert appear on obverse in 9/10 black fountain pen ink. Best, however, is the check's verso, upon which we find two endorsing signatures for deposit into the Hall of Fame infielder's account, signed in both his casual "Tony Lazzeri" and formal "Anthony Lazzeri" format. A couple of all but imperceptible brushes to the ink of the second signature is noted purely for the sake of full disclosure. Bank punch coding, a vertical center fold and a few fingerprints on verso (possibly Lazzeri's?) are likewise of negligible concern. A true Murderer's Row treasure! LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
