1927-S 5C MS64 PCGS. Pale gray-gold surfaces with brilliant underlying luster, and splashes of deeper gold on the obverse. While this date is not particularly difficult to locate in Choice Mint State quality, finer examples are quite rare, with just 20 Gems certified by PCGS (8/07). The strike is typical, with complete details but lacking the sharpness of a full strike.

Coin Engraver: James E.
