1927-S<50C> MS64 PCGS. Scintillating peripheral iridescence of ice-blue, amber, and russet is the hallmark of this splendid near-Gem specimen. The reverse center is brilliant, while the obverse center has a light silver-gold cast. Perusal with a loupe reveals no mentionable abrasions, although some interesting die cracks are seen on the lower-reverse devices along with some obverse die clash marks, both the result of apparent die-economy moves at the San Francisco Mint in 1927. An elusive issue in Gem condition; perhaps this high-end near-Gem would be a satisfying alternative.
