<B>1927-S 25C MS65 NGC.</B></I> The 1927-S is the key issue in the Standing Liberty quarter series. Only 396,000 pieces were struck, the second lowest mintage in the series, and it is very elusive in VF or better grades. In Uncirculated condition, it is several times rarer than the lower mintage 1916. On this Gem, perhaps half of the head detail is present and there is slight softness seen also on Liberty's shield and the eagle's breast. The mint luster is bright and the surfaces show no noticeable blemishes on either side. Almost brilliant, each side has just a hint of light golden patina around the margins.
