<B>1927-S 25C MS62 Full Head NGC.</B></I> Certain issues, such as the 1796 quarter and the 1901-S quarter, have unusual grade distributions, with many low-grade pieces known, as well as a quantity of high-grade pieces, but few in between. The 1927-S quarter is just such a coin, with most survivors grading less than Fine, but with several Mint State pieces. When an example in the latter category becomes available, it is subject to much demand as the large number of collectors that otherwise desire XF and AU grade pieces must compete for these lower level Mint State examples. This fully brilliant specimen has attractive light gray and heather color with frosty surfaces. It is a sharp strike in nearly every detail, with only slight weakness at the inner curve of the shield.
