<B>1927-S $20 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> The 1927-S was once regarded as the fourth rarest issue in the Saint-Gaudens double eagle series. In recent decades, however, enough examples have been repatriated from Europe to lower the overall rarity ranking of this issue. However it should be noted that, like the 1926-D double eagle, no sizeable hoards of this issue were ever uncovered and that the 1927-S is still a daunting scarcity within the popular Saint-Gaudens series.<BR> This piece displays rich, yellow-gold surfaces and flashy mint frost, with eye appeal that would do justice to a considerably higher grade. There are a few light abrasions on both sides, but even these are miniscule in number for the grade.
