1927-D 5C MS65 PCGS. The lightest blushes of powder-blue and salmon-pink iridescence cling to the borders of this otherwise medium gold example. The highest points of the design may not all be fully struck, but they display bold-to-sharp definition that is exemplary for the issue. There are no distracting abrasions or carbon flecks. The rarity of this D-mint Buffalo Nickel is underrated in both circulated and Mint State grades. Writing in 2000, David Lange opines that well struck Gems are "particularly elusive." Neither NGC nor PCGS reports a single '27-D Nickel above the MS65 level (10/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
