<B>1927-D<1C> MS65 Red NGC.</B></I> Although not quite in the same league as branch mint rarities such as the 1924-S or 1925-S, in Gem Red condition the 1927-D is quite a challenge in its own right. This charming example offers a burnt-orange obverse with glints of lime green and magenta on the lower reverse. A couple of dark flecks on each side are visible only with a loupe, and the strike is a bit better than average for this difficult issue. Census: 9 in 65 Red, 1 finer (9/06).
