The lot features a very unique and rare original 1927 Chevrolet (Chevy) 1 Ton Capitol Series Express Delivery Truck. The truck has been in the current owner’s family since it was purchased new. The truck was used to transport visitors to and from the Boundary Waters Minnesota Resort in the 1920-1930’s. Boundary Waters, also called the Quetico-Superior Country, is a region of beautiful wilderness between Canada and Minnesota and is part of the Superior National Forest. This is a very rare original factory special order long wheel base Chevy 1 Ton Express or Delivery Truck. Very few of these long wheel base full size trucks were sold and even fewer are still available for purchase let alone in this original driving condition. These long wheelbase open back trucks are sometimes referred to as “Stake-Trucks”. The truck shows the two-seat front cab with open back covered seating and a modern coat of paint on the wood, as it was used in a yearly parade locally in Montana. The truck has the factory original 2.8 Liter 171 Cubic Inch 4-Cylinder Inline Flathead Engine with original 3-Speed Manual Transmission. These rare trucks are referred to as the Chevrolet Series AA Capitol or Chevrolet Capitol manufacture. This body style was created by Chevy as an effort to beat the Ford Model T and newly released Ford Model A of the time. The engine shows the original fuel system with replaced fuel tank (original fuel tank included along with a replacement electric fuel pump), and an unmolested all original motor with original radiator. This also shows the original wood spoked wheels, original headlights, original front badge, original two-piece front windshield, and original metal covered over wood cab. Along with the drivetrain the vehicle also shows the original frame and suspension parts. The truck does have a newer professionally added exhaust system. This truly would make a fantastic piece of advertising for any small business or an excellent parade and show vehicle for someone looking for that unique ride. The piece shows the original gauges (odometer, amperes, and oil) with the odometer showing ___ current miles. The vehicle also still impressively shows the wood original steering wheel and metal step sides with original fenders. This is currently the most complete and good condition running 1927 1 Ton Truck currently available for sale. The vehicle is in mostly original running, driving and stopping condition.
