1927 Bustin Babes & Larrupin Lou's Barnstorming Pennants Lot of 2. Most pennant collectors wouldn't even dare to dream of finding a single example from this most famous and star-studded of Golden Age barnstorming tours, much less a matched pair such as we are privileged to present here. These charmingly simple artifacts, constructed from black and colored felt, are wonderfully evocative of this journey through the American heartland by the game's premier sluggers, and one can imagine wide-eyed Midwestern youths gripping them as they cheered the Yankee legends. Each measures twenty-three inches in length and present exceedingly well for their age, with just a single pebble-sized moth hole that cannot diminish the tremendous visual appeal. The tips are sharp, and no tack holes are to be found. It does not appear as if either ever had tassels, but if they once did, they are no longer present. One could state without much fear of inaccuracy that this will be the first and last offering of this matched pair at auction, so serious collectors should bid accordingly. The pennants derive from two separate sources in the central United States.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
