<B>1927 Bobby Jones Signed Book.</B></I> While any signature from this Golden Age links legend carries tremendous collecting appeal (and particularly signed books), it just doesn't get any better than an autograph dating from the height of Jones' world-beating abilities as we find here. This first edition hardbound copy of U Down the Fairway /U was published in 1927, the year Jones earned the undying love of the golf fans of Great Britain by refusing to bring the Open Championship trophy he had won back to the States, insisting that it belonged in its home nation instead. The opening page of the volume bears a 9+/10 inscription in Jones' most desirable late-1920's style, reading "For Robert Penstoon, With best wishes, Robt. Jones, Jr." The book itself has seen some wear and tear over eight decades of existence, with the binding and first few pages loose but still affixed. These concerns must be overlooked given the desirability of this timely signature, an essential in any fine golf collection. <I>LOA from PSA/DNA.
