1927 50C Vermont MS67 PCGS. Linking the lynx on the reverse of the Vermont half with the Catamount Tavern, a famous meeting place for revolutionaries of that state, and thence to Ira Allen and the Green Mountain Boys proved too much for many numismatists, and the visual pun goes down as one of the most obscure in American commemorative history. The practically flawless surfaces display powerful luster beneath dappled russet and apple-green toning on the obverse, though such patina appears only at the margins on the reverse. This highly appealing piece is tied for the finest certified by PCGS and is housed in a first-generation holder (3/07).
From The Cary & Cheryl Porter Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
