1926-S 5C MS64 PCGS.
1926-S 5C MS64 PCGS. Long considered the key date in the series because of its low mintage (only 970,000 pieces), the '26-S can usually be found for a price in circulated grades. In Mint State, however, it is very scarce, and as a near-Gem this example is highly desirable. The coin is not fully struck, in the sense that one would find a fully struck '38-D, or a 1913. For the issue, however, it is quite well defined, with most of the highpoint definition on the Indian's hair present. On the reverse, the striking details are typically rather soft on the bison. The colors are the normal olive-gray one associates with this type, with a very slight degree of added russet mottling, and a few flyspecks. An example this nice will always represent a significant opportunity for the serious Buffalo Nickel specialist. Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
