<B>1926-S 5C MS64 PCGS.</B></I> In <I>The Complete Guide to Buffalo Nickels</B></I> David Lange writes of the 1926-S: "Long hailed as the rarest date in the series because it has the lowest mintage of any regular issue (970,000 pieces), the 1926-S seems overrated in the popular grades of VF-XF. Only in AU and above does this coin's reputation hold true. Mint State coins are very scarce, Gems are nearly unknown."<BR> Lustrous surfaces of this near-Gem display pink, ice-blue, and light gray patina, and are devoid of significant marks.
