1926 25C MS67 Full Head NGC. With a sizeable original mintage of 11.3 million pieces, the 1926 does not seem like a coin that would be hailed as rare, or even scarce, in most grades. Nevertheless, specialists in this series realize that the 1926 is as poorly produced as many S-mint issues in this series, and only about 10% (per Cline) of the original mintage was produced with Full Head definition. This sharp Superb Gem is far better detailed on Liberty's head than the typical Uncirculated piece. Charming ice-blue and lilac patina covers the pleasing surfaces, more heavily on the obverse. The preservation is nearly perfect, with no visible marks seen on either side. For pedigree purposes, a thin, horizontal die crack extends through the top of Liberty's head to the E of LIBERTY. Despite the moderate toning, full mint luster bursts through, providing the punch to make this coin what it is, a conditionally rare MS67 example. Only three MS67 Full Head specimens have been graded at both services combined (4/07).
From The Encinitas Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
