1926 $20 MS67 NGC. Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth, in their 2006 Encyclopedia of U.S. Gold Coins, 1795-1933, write that: "Like most other Philadelphia issues from this period, a significant number were saved in European banks and have since made their way back home. As a date, this is one of the most common issues in the series, ranking number 48 of the 54 dates and mints." The 1926 in Uncirculated condition is readily available through MS65, as is evidenced by the several thousand that have been certified by NGC and PCGS. In the lofty grade of MS67, a mere eight pieces have been graded, and none finer.
Potent luster radiates from both sides of this apricot-gold Superb Gem. The boldly executed strike manifests itself in sharp definition on Liberty's face, fingers, and toes, as well as on the olive branch and the eagle's feathers. The surfaces are well preserved throughout; the few minute marks on Liberty's upper right (left facing) leg may help to pedigree this example. Census: 5 in 67, 0 finer (10/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
