1926 $2 1/2 Sesquicentennial MS66 NGC. The 1926 Sesquicentennial Exposition nearly added a new denomination to the list coined by the United States, one with a value of one and a half dollars (or 150 cents), but that proposal fell by the wayside, and the more prosaic quarter eagle was authorized instead.
Seasoned commemorative collectors know the difficulty of acquiring a pleasing example of either Sesquicentennial issue, but this beauty should meet every expectation. The strike is more than adequate, and the gold-orange surfaces have pretty luster and delicate apricot accents. The usual marks on Liberty and her scroll that bar the way to a Gem grade are absent, and only a handful of tiny marks are visible on Liberty's lower gown. NGC has certified three coins finer, and PCGS has graded none (11/06).
From The RNB Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
