1926<$2 1/2> Sesquicentennial MS65 PCGS. The full name of this issue is the "Sesquicentennial of American Independence Quarter Eagle," and it is the last gold issue of the original commemorative coinage period that lasted from 1892 to 1954. By the time of the large commemorative period of the mid 1930s, gold was no longer legal to own, thus was no longer used for any type of coins. This highly lustrous yellow-gold example has hints of green color. It is sharply struck and the surfaces are free of significant marks, having only a few miniscule abrasions.
