1926<$2 1/2> Sesquicentennial MS65 PCGS. As expected from the larger mintage in excess of 46,000 pieces, more Mint State examples of this gold commemorative are known than of any other, but most survivors are in the MS62 to MS64 range, and Gem and higher survivors are rare. The delightful surfaces are a medium orange-gold, with a tiny copper alloy spot below Liberty's scroll on the obverse. A couple of tiny ticks on her exposed right (facing) leg determine the grade. A small die crack passes through her face from the last S in STATES. Strike softness on the reverse makes the sun's ray invisible, and the left (facing) wing of Independence Hall soft.
From The Troy Wiseman Collection.
