1926<$10> MS66 PCGS. Superbly and unusually patinated in a tricolored scheme, this luscious coin has greenish-gold near the date, tinges of hazel-gray in the obverse fields, and rich sunset-orange on the devices. The reverse shows a similar color palette. Both sides are highly lustrous under the translucent toning. The crisp strike separates all the headdress feathers, although the hair above the forehead is not completely full. Perusal under a loupe reveals a small struck-through area (possibly from a thread) on the eagle's breast, and a nick beneath, well hidden in the feathers. Among the finest graded at either service, with none finer, this delectable Premium Gem might be a superior choice for a type collector who desires a basically unimprovable business strike, yet desires to stay away from the ubiquitous 1932 eagle issue. Population: 8 in 66, 0 finer (6/06).
