<td width="100%">
An astonishingly expressive genre woodcut by the acclaimed German artist Walther Klemm (1883-1957), printed on silk paper, signed and set in a glazed partly gilt frame. Overall size is 11 x 14. This tragicomical work from about 1925 depicts the Spanish fiction hero Don Quichotte returning from another vain battle, seated on the donkey of his servant Sancho Panza and closely followed by his tired horse Rossinante. This work is typical of Walther Klemm, a much known, sought after and abundantly listed artist. Certificate of authenticity and origin provided.
