1925-S $20 MS63 PCGS. Like most of the branch mint issues from this decade, this mintage of this date is irrelevant. In the case of the '25-S, nearly 4 million pieces were struck, yet less than 1,000 pieces survive in all grades. Dave Bowers estimated a field population that is equally divided between circulated and Mint State coins, suggesting that 300 to 500 of each survive today. Others have provided even smaller estimates. Although not fully struck, this piece retains exceptional satiny luster with impressive honey-gold color. Population: 66 in 63, 19 finer (12/06).
From The Matt & Susan Brown Family Collection of Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
