1925-S $20 MS63 NGC. The large mintage of 3,776,500 pieces belies the rarity of the 1925-S, as most of the issue ended up being melted in the 1930s. Those that did survive can be traced to small hoards held by European banks or to pieces squirreled away by American collectors. Fewer than 600 coins are known today in all grades.
Dazzling luster stands out on this Select specimen that possesses apricot-gold color imbued with traces of light green. The design elements are generally well impressed, exhibiting bold delineation in the fingers of Liberty's left (right facing) hand and the panes of the Capitol building. Some shallow curving marks are noted in the right obverse field. Census: 33 in 63, 14 finer (7/07).

Coin Engraver: Augustus Saint-Gaudens

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
