<B>1925-S $20 MS63 NGC.</B></I> The 1925-S is one of the elusive mintmarked Saint-Gaudens issues from the mid-1920s forward that saw extensive melting in the following decade. Unlike other mass-melted issues, quite a few of the survivors are circulated to some degree, usually in the AU50 to AU58 grade range. This bright, satiny example is one of only a couple hundred pieces that managed to survive in Uncirculated condition (out of an enormous mintage of 3,776,500 pieces). The rose-gold surfaces are imbued with greenish accents, creating a wonderfully variegated appearance. Both sides are boldly detailed and show only a few minor marks, none of which are cause for individual concern.
