<Our item number 99300>1925-D $20 St. Gaudens. PCGS graded MS-64. Mostly untoned. Like the 1924-D, the 1925-D also had its rarity ranking revised since the mid-20th century by the discovery of a few small hoards overseas. While both dates are similar in overall rarity, the edge in high grades goes to the 1925-D. We have only offered a few near-Gem pieces in the last decade. Typically well struck for the issue, the impressive devices rise boldly above the fields with solid frosty definition. The luster is gleaming and fresh in quality, uncleaned and aesthetically beautiful, while the surfaces are bathed in original reddish-gold color. A tiny mark is seen on the forepart of the leading wing edge; this is the only worthwhile pedigree marker. Very few other minor abrasions can be seen, none are overly offensive. A rare treat for the double eagle specialist! Pop 79; 3 in 65; 2 in 66. (PCGS # 9181).
Estimated Value $16,000-17,000.

Our item number 99300
<IMAGES>

</IMAGES>
