1925-D $20 MS64 PCGS. This frosty and highly lustrous near-Gem has bright pinkish-gold color with faint peripheral olive toning. This piece is sharply struck with excellent obverse and reverse detail. Like so many other issues, most of the nearly 3 million pieces that were originally minted met their fate in melting pots during the late 1930s. Today, it is possible that as many as 900 examples exist, although nearly all survivors are in lower grades than this example. A large but unknown quantity of this date were imported from Europe in various transactions throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Population: 79 in 64, 5 finer (12/06).
From The Matt & Susan Brown Family Collection of Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
