<B>1925-D $2 1/2 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> The 1925-D is one of only three Denver Mint issues in the Indian quarter eagle series. The other two coins are the 1914-D and the key-date 1911-D. With a mintage of 578,000 coins, the 1925-D quarter eagle is considered a common coin in all grades with the exception of Gem and finer. To illustrate this point, PCGS has graded a mere 28 pieces finer than MS65 and none have graded higher than MS66. Nonetheless, the 1925-D quarter eagle is obtainable in Gem condition with a bit of patience and, as such, is popular with collectors as a type coin.
