1925 50C Vancouver MS67 PCGS. A bust of Dr. John
1925 50C Vancouver MS67 PCGS. A bust of Dr. John McLoughlin, builder of Fort Vancouver, is on the obverse. The intricately designed Fort, built on the Columbia River in 1825, is depicted in the reverse background, with a defending frontiersman shown in the foreground. This piece displays dazzling luster overlain by low-intensity cobalt-blue and tan-beige tan patina on the obverse, and pale magenta and sky-blue on the reverse. The design elements are well defined, including most of the minute details on the Fort itself. Lovingly preserved surfaces are virtually free of noticeable blemishes. A coin with greater eye appeal would be hard to imagine. Population: 43 in 67, 1 finer (1/05).
From the Bruce Scher #1 All-Time PCGS Registry Set. Lot:4183
